Andrew is Everywhere!!!
I LOVE hearing about B+ sightings all over the globe. The latest story I heard came from a chance encounter on the streets of Havana, Cuba. Morgan, one of our loyal supporters from NYC, was walking down the street when she saw a guy across the street wearing a B+ shirt. Because there were literally cattle and cars in the road, she couldn’t get over to talk to him but she yelled out “Live Like Andrew!”. Imagine the guy’s shock when he heard this. He excitedly turned around and pointed to his shirt with a big smile on his face. Andrew vive en Cuba!
Delaware Signs on to STAR Act
In Delaware, we only have one congressional seat and I am proud to report that Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) has signed on as a Co-Sponsor of the STAR Act, the most comprehensive childhood cancer legislation ever. Rep. Blunt Rochester joined us at UDance on March 12th and I’d like to think she was moved by what she saw and learned. There’s a lot of work to be done on this bill in both the House and Senate, but I’m optimistic we will eventually see passage in the 115th Congress. What happens when it gets to the White House is anyone’s guess. Early indications out of the White House are that there could be significant cuts in research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and, thus, the National Cancer Institute (NCI). More to come…
Elite PT Celebrates with B+
Rudy and the gang at Elite PT in Delaware have been great supporters of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. Elite not only sets up at our 5k every year to stretch out the runners, but they also wear B+ gear every Friday and even sell it in their various locations.
They have found a new and creative way to help us. Erin from Elite is having a baby soon and they’ve started an office pool to guess the delivery date and the money raised is going to B+. As you’ll see in the picture below, we’ve given Erin one of my all-time favorite B+ items — a B+ ‘onesie’! Congratulations, Erin, and thank you to our friends at Elite PT.
Make it a great week.
Live Like Andrew.
