Another Summer Tradition
The 11th Annual B+ 5k Fighting Childhood Cancer run/walk will be held on Wed. June 21st at Andrew’s alma mater, Salesianum School. As always, there will be a ton of free food – Seasons pizza, Johnnie’s hot dogs, soft pretzels from Tile Market, produce from Marinis, snacks from Frito-Lay, apples and water from Red Robin, and water from Wawa and Horizon. Thank you to Sweet Lucy’s and Delaware Stadium Corporation (Blue Rocks) for once again donating prizes for the biggest and top fundraising teams. And, of course, it’s not about your time on the course…it’s all about honoring our B+ Heroes, having fun, and raising money to help families of kids with cancer. Get your friends, co-workers, and families and create a team or join us an individual participant. Sign up here and then send out the pre-written email (or use the FB and Twitter widgets) to help us raise awareness and money. Thanks for your support.
Andrew “Lives” in Harlem
While our hearts are forever broken that Andrew is not here with us in person, we are so touched by the ways that Andrew ‘lives’ on in other people’s lives, especially kids. Lindsay, a loyal B+ supporter, has introduced Andrew to her 4th grade class at P.S. 206 in Harlem, NY and has taught them what it means to “Live Like Andrew”. The kids were given an assignment to write about how they applied the B+ message in their lives and how they “Lived Like Andrew”. Chris, Ali, & I had the privilege of reading some of their answers. They all were so great. One that I have to share with you:
“I took the state test and I didn’t cheat. I took it with my own thoughts. So that’s how I lived like Andrew and set goals and tried my best to do what’s right, like Andrew did!”
Can you “Live Like Andrew”?
Ali & Andrew’s Dad
