We’re helping kids fight cancer through…

Family Assistance

Family Assistance

The Andrew McDonough B+ (Be Positive) Foundation is the largest provider of financial assistance to families of kids with cancer nationwide.

The B+ Foundation has helped thousands of families being treated at over 200 U.S. hospitals. Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to lessen the financial burden so families can focus on what’s most important — their child’s health. Continue reading to learn more.

Cancer Research

Research

The B+ Foundation is proud to support cutting-edge childhood cancer research across the country. A few of the world-class institutions that have received our support include Seattle Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber/Harvard Medical Center, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Children’s Oncology Group, the leading childhood cancer research organization in the country, has been a beneficiary of our support as well. This is a time of great discovery in childhood cancer research. We owe it to the children — those 46 kids who are diagnosed each school day — to seize this opportunity.

Advocacy

The B+ Foundation is one of the Co-Founders of the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2) and a member of the Alliance for Childhood Cancer.

These groups are the preeminent, national collaborations of childhood cancer charities and medical professional groups, who advocate for greater awareness of childhood cancer and significantly increased federal and private sector funding of childhood cancer research.

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation

The Andrew McDonough B+® Foundation was created to honor a 14-year-old star -- on and off the soccer and baseball fields. He bravely battled leukemia with his "Be Positive" attitude and B+ bloodtype, never leaving the hospital for 167 days, and earned his spot in heaven in July 2007. The B+ Foundation spreads Andrew's positive attitude and zest for life and has changed the way thousands of families relate to each other. We have also helped thousands of families across the country each year -- financially and emotionally -- as they care for their child with cancer. We have committed millions of dollars to children's cancer research in the hope that soon no family will go through the loss that we have. Help us spread the B+ message!

We’re heartbroken to share with you that B+ Hero Nathan Silpath has passed away.

At 16 years old, Nathan had been through more than most adults. Since 9 years old, Nathan battled 3 different types of cancer 4 different times.
