The Last Frontier
A year ago this week, The Today Show did a nice feature on The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and we were stunned when they presented us with a free cruise to Alaska! Last week, we got a chance to experience the trip of a lifetime. We want to thank The Today Show, CruisingStore.com, Celebrity, and Hemsworth Communication for making this possible. We saw bears, bald eagles, whales, a glacier 'calving' (which is SO cool), we kayaked around icebergs & zip lined through a rain forest. And if that wasn't enough, we saw our daughter get engaged on the ship with Hubbard Glacier in the background! There was one, very important person missing, and that was, of course, Andrew. He would have LOVED this trip and would have loved being with Ali on her big day. And, I know Andrew definitely approves of Ali's fiancee, Anthony. Anthony is a great young man and I know they would have been good friends. I miss Andrew every day and I couldn't stop thinking about him on this trip.
12th Annual B+ 5k Run/Walk
This past Wednesday, we held our 12th Annual B+ 5k at Andrew's alma mater, Salesianum. We had a great crowd - 1,751 participants from 58 teams - and we raised $100,000 to help families of kids with cancer!!! The rain held off, the free food was plentiful, and everyone had a good time. Thanks to everyone who made this event such a great success.
Enjoy the weekend.
Live Like Andrew.
