It’s been a busy week here at B+. We had a super UDance 2026 on Sunday, then it was off to Portland, OR for a very long day trip on Tuesday, followed by a weekend in Bismarck, ND for the 20th Annual Brave the Shave.

Had a great day in Newark, DE yesterday! Thank you to UDance and all of the students at the University of Delaware for helping The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation fight childhood cancers.

As I mentioned last week, this year’s B+ 5k Run/Walk is VERY important to me and my family. We want to bring out a massive crowd to show that Andrew is not forgotten at the event at his school.
20th ANNUAL B+ 5k RUN/WALK!
I cannot believe that this year’s June 17th B+ 5k Run/Walk will be our 20th!!! Since that first B+ 5k, while we were still in the hospital with Andrew, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation has become the largest provider of financial assistance to families of kids with cancer in the country!
Accelerating Childhood Cancer Treatments
I had the pleasure of attending the ACCELERATE research conference last week in Brussels. As you may recall, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation is the primary funder of ACCELERATE. ACCELERATE is a unique, multi-stakeholder organization made up of Academics (investigators), Advocates (charities), Industry (pharma/biotechs), and Regulators (EMA, FDA).

On this day in 2007, this is what my family looked like. While we had challenges like everyone else, I would honestly say that I had my idea of a perfect life.

Mason is only 13 years old, he’s been diagnosed with brain cancer, lost his dad to an accident, is one of 4 kids, and lives hours from his hospitals…yes, plural - hospitals. That’s the life of a child with cancer.
Speak Up for June
If you’re having a tough day, look at cute, little June.
As you’ll see from June’s family’s note, they live 3.5 hours away from their hospital!!! They were at risk of losing their car before B+ stepped in.

Addy & Action Days
Last week, I traveled to DC for an Alliance for Childhood Cancer meeting. The Alliance is a small (~25 groups) collection of professional groups (I.e. American Academy of Pediatrics)and Advocates (I.e. American Cancer Society, B+) with a focus on federal legislation advocacy.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Last Saturday night, I had the privilege of being on the field at Citizen’s Bank Park with my family as we helped to hold a huge gold ribbon in the outfield in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
