5k, Crypto, and Grads!

16th Annual B+ 5k a HUGE Success!

Race Starter, Mrs. Marini, honoring her late husband, Dante Marini.

I don’t have the words to describe how great it was to be back in person for our annual B+ 5k run/walk. On Wednesday, June 8th, over 1,000 people participated in the 16th Annual B+ 5k and we were able to raise over $75,000 to help families of kids with cancer. Our numbers were down quite a bit vs pre-pandemic, but we’re ok with that as it was still great to see so many friends, new and old. The highlight of every B+ 5k, aside from all of the free food, is honoring our B+ Heroes and Sibling Heroes on the steps of Salesianum, Andrew’s alma mater. I look forward to the day when we don’t have any more kids with cancer to call up for recognition. Thank you to all of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and Salesianum. It was a great night! I just know that next year will be bigger and better than ever. B+

The B+ Foundation Now Accepts Cryptocurrency

While this may be foreign to many, 13% of American adults (and the percentage is MUCH higher among younger Americans) own crypocurrency. So, whether you’re into Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, or dozens of others, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation now accepts cryptocurrency donations. This is a great way to help families of kids with cancer while reducing your tax burden. Very soon, we will offer the crypto option on our website, but in the meantime, if you’re interested, please visit our link on our partner’s site (The Giving Block) to check it out and consider a donation. Thank you.

Congratulations B+ Hero Graduates

In the past 10 days, I’ve had the honor of attending three high school graduation parties for B+ Heroes. I am SO happy for them. Brett Kaden, Drew Koenig, and Reena Robinson are off to the University of Delaware, Penn State, and Ursinus College, respectively in the Fall. It’s very emotional for me when I consider where these kids were at in life when I met them. They, and their families, have been through a lot and have come a long way. All kids should get a chance to grow up. Congratulations and good luck, Brett, Drew, and Reena.
