April 6 10
Please keep the Pauley family in your prayers as they endure Savannah’s first birthday in Heaven today. Living without your child here on Earth is difficult every day of the year, but birthdays are meant to be such happy occasions and April 6th will never hold that joy for the Pauley family. Andrew, please make Savannah feel extra special up there today.

While our mission, of course, is fighting childhood cancer, there are times when I would be remiss if I didn’t ask for your prayers and support for adults who are battling, or who have battled, these terrible cancers. In the last 2 weeks, two local adults have passed away following tremendously courageous battles with brain tumors.
The first is Joe Priest, a 31 year old husband and father of two young children who attend Ursuline Academy (Ali’s alma mater). The second is Nicole Testa, a mother of two children, who went to Heaven on Easter Sunday. Nicole’s sister passed away late last year from a brain tumor as well. I had the privilege of meeting Nicole at a KHG Brain Tumor dinner about 14 months ago. We talked about our life ‘in the club’ (the club you never want to be a part of). I know several people who knew Nicole well and they rave about what an incredible person she was during here time here. My condolences and prayers go out to both the Priest and Testa families.
Now, I’d like to tell you about a brave guy who is battling Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer similar to leukemia. His name is Mike Cefaratti and he is a Dad, a husband, and an employee of JP Morgan Chase (my former employer). Mike is undergoing treatment in Salt Lake City and, needless to say, the bills pile up. Mike’s friends have organized “Cef-Fest”, a big fund-raising party for Mike and his family this coming Saturday April 10th. Here are the details:
Sat. April 10th 7pm-11pm
St. John the Beloved, Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE

You can also register online at the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware’s website (see link below).

Our prayers go out to the Cefaratti family as well.

Finally, please keep B+ Hero, Trevayne Campbell, in your prayers. Trevayne has bravely battled Osteosarcoma in her right leg, left leg, and now it has spread to her back. The news that Trevayne and her Mom have received is not very good. But, she’s an incredible young lady and I know she will continue to fight with everything she has. Praying for a miracle…
