Celebrating a Record-Breaking Year!

Happy New Year!

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and cherished the precious time that you got to spend with loved ones. I hope and pray for great discoveries of better treatments (or even cures) of childhood cancers in 2023.

Thanks to you, 2022 was a record-breaking year at The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. We gave out over $5,000,000 in financial assistance to families of kids with cancer to lessen the burden while their brave little boy or girl fights their life or death battle. And, in an effort to proactively change the landscape of childhood cancer, The B+ Foundation awarded over $2,000,000 in global research grants! With offices in Delaware and New York City, and team members in Boston, San Diego, Birmingham, and Nashville, we’ve come a long way. And, we’re not done yet! There’s so much more to do. Please stay with us and spread the word about The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to all of your friends and co-workers in 2023.

Here’s a message from B+ Hero Spiderman (aka Zayd) and his Mom:

Thank you so much for your support and assistance. We greatly appreciate your donation. I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your son. Thank you for being our extended family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Please see attached pictures from our family to yours.

Life can change SO quickly. Meet Mackenzie through his Mom’s words.

It is with a very humble heart that I send this email. My son Mackenzie Thomas was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma on October 19, 2022. In August 2022 he and I both got COVID. He had what we thought was long term COVID symptoms. After months of doctors visits and blood tests I took him to the ER in the morning on October 19th and by 4PM that day after an MRI the doctor informed me that Mackenzie had a brain tumor and we were rushed off to Oakland Children's hospital for surgery the next day. This turn of events has changed our lives forever. We are a family of faith and and have a strong belief in God. Despite all that has transpired we know that Mackenzie will be healed. We are so thankful to organizations like BE POSITITVE for your support. My heart is humbled that an organization like BE POSITIVE that was formed from one families story is now able to touch so many lives. Thank you for all that you do and I look forward to giving back to this organization so that the power of support can continue forward.

My Name Is Mackenzie

I am 11 years old

I love basketball, video games, and eating crab

I wonder about dirt bikes and go karts

I believe I will be healed

I am afraid of dying

I dream of getting a dirt bike

I was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma

Let’s crush childhood cancer in 2023! What part will you play?
Thanks.
