I’d like to talk a little bit tonight about my special little girl (you’ll always be my “little girl”, Ali :) ) When I was bringing her back to campus yesterday morning, she shocked me by saying “Hey Dad, do you want to come to my Criminal Justice class with me?” I was stunned! Not only would it be kind of cool for me to go into a classroom that I haven’t been in for 25 years, but Ali INVITED me to go to class with her. I jumped at the chance. It was so cool sitting in that class with Ali. I think Ali is the one who taught Andrew to “be comfortable in your own skin”. Thanks, Ali — you are the best daughter a Dad could ever ask for!!!
Then, last night, Chris and I returned to the UD campus for a B+ Fundraiser (and we picked up Ali along the way!). It was actually a ‘date auction’ called the “A+ Auction for the B+ Foundation”. What a riot!!! This was a fundraiser that was run entirely by students (primarily freshmen) to benefit “our kids”. Once we get pictures, we’ll post them on www.BePositive.org. Thank you so much to the UD students who we met last night. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is so greatly appreciated. The future is bright!

One last random thought to share with you. Most people have some prized possession that they only use/wear on special occasions. It might be special china, it might be a favorite pair of sneakers, an outfit, perfume, whatever. What are you waiting for? Live for today; if today is not special, it’s because you didn’t make it special. God willing, you will have many tomorrows, but there’s no guarantee. Carpe diem!
