New B+ Items for the Holidays

Thanks to Michael Goldberg at Indulgence Jewelers, we have beautiful, new monogram-style B+ necklaces and bracelets now available (see photo or link) while supplies last.

Additionally, we just picked up new shirts today.  They’re not traditional tee shirts, but instead, super soft cotton/rayon sport tees available in both men’s and women’s styles and sizing.  Please check out all of our cool new stuff at the B+ Shop.

Thank You

Just wanted to thank you all again for voting for Ali and for all of the kind messages of support following our visit in Las Vegas at the NASCAR banquet.

Thank You…Again

I also wanted to thank the many B+ supporters who have recently included us in your holiday giving.  Your checks and online donations, regardless of the size, are so important not only for allowing us to help so many more families and fund cutting edge research, but it’s a great show of support that renews our energy.  If you are so inclined, donations can be made online or via the mail sent to:

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation (or just The B+ Foundation)

101 Rockland Circle

Wilmington, DE  19803

We have also been fortunate enough recently to receive donations in the form of stocks and bequests in donor’s estate planning.  That’s a little awkward to address, but it is a great legacy to leave behind.

Thank you very much for your support.

Exciting Research News

Please take a minute to read the article about the truly exciting work being done by our friend, Dr. Ayyappan Rajasekaran at the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research (NCCCR).  Thanks to all of you, The B+ Foundation has been able to provide a decent amount of financial support to NCCCR, and I am very, very encouraged by the work of Dr. Raj and his collaborators.  Congratulations to Dr. Raj and his team and keep soldiering on in the fight for our kids.

The B+ Running Team is Gearing Up for the Delaware Marathon (May 2013)

Please come out and join us Mon. Dec. 10th at 7:00pm at the Christiana Hilton for a brief (30-45 minutes) Interest Meeting.  There’s no obligation to attend; we’re not going to strongarm you.  Just come out and learn about our team regardless of whether you’re a seasoned runner or have never run at all.  If you decide to join our team, you will have a running coach who will develop a personalized running program for you, you’ll be invited to join the Pike Creek Valley Running Club (if you’re in Northern DE) on their semi-weekly training runs, and we’ll cover virtually all of your expenses.  Best of all, though, you’ll have the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction knowing that you ran to save kids’ lives!  We will have a few of our runners from the Hamptons Marathon at our meeting to discuss their experiences.  Hope to see you on Monday.  Please spread the word!

$120,000 Worth of Toys Donated to A.I. duPont Hospital!

It was absolutely INSANE watching $120,000 worth of toys being delivered to A.I. duPont Hospital on Tuesday.  My friend and B+ Hero Dad, Dan Feltwell, contacted me and said that his friend, celebrity hair stylist, Martino Cartier, had a truckload of toys that he wanted to donate in honor of a little girl named Kiki, who passed away on Nov. 11, 2012.  For whatever reason, the hospital where Kiki was treated refused the donation, so Dan asked me if I could help facilitate the donation with A.I.  Thankfully, the folks at A.I. were very cooperative and appreciative and a classroom and hallway was turned into a toy store.  It was crazy seeing kids, from all units of the hospital, walking down the hall with armfuls of toys, Kindle Fires, iPads, dolls, you name it.  Thank you SO much to Martino, everyone from his charity (http://www.friendsarebyyourside.com/), and Dan for making this possible.

Make it a great weekend.  It’s up to you.
