Happy Birthday Andrew!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Tuesday was Andrew’s 32nd birthday…unfortunately, we have observed the last 18 of them without Andrew here. There are no words to describe how much I miss my son. And, no, the pain NEVER goes away!

As I hope you know, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We were given a great opportunity to generate some great awareness this week with an ad on the iconic Nasdaq billboard in Times Square (NYC). The two-part ad (which we later fixed to work around the windows) says “I just want a chance to grow up” followed by “Andrew didn’t get to! 1992-2007”. The picture on the left is B+ Hero Caroline and her family looking up at her younger self when she was in treatment. The picture on the right is my wife, daughter, and myself in Times Square on Andrew’s birthday.

I really hope that this make New Yorkers and tourists pause for just a moment to realize that kids get cancer too!

Chatham B+ Club

I am really touched by the tremendous effort of some very kind kids in Chatham, NJ. They worked very hard once again this summer to organize their annual B+ Hoops tournament. This year, they raised $21,327! The world is going to be just fine if we have kids like this.

Make it a great weekend! No days are promised to you.
