I am so humbled and appreciative.
Last night was our “4th Annual B+ Fighting Childhood Cancer 5k Run/Walk”. We really wanted this year to be bigger and better since this is a special year - Andrew’s classmates graduated this year from high school. With perfect weather and over 2,300 participants and an estimated 200-300 additional spectators, I literally had chills as this mass of humanity headed down Broom St in Wilmington. I was speechless (no, really. Those of you who know me well know that is EXTREMELY rare!). I think everyone had a great time and, we raised OVER $110,000 with money still coming in on our online donation site. Most importantly, we honored B+ Heroes, some who are still with us, and some who are watching over us. They all inspire me.
There are too many people to thank, from sponsors to participants to volunteers, etc. I hope you all know how much we appreciate your help and that you have joined us on this mission. Until we find cures for ALL types of childhood cancers, we will continue the fight. The children need a voice!

One of “our” children, Trevayne Campbell, was memorialized this morning in a beautiful ceremony at the high school that she graduated from just two weeks ago. Trevayne will be buried in her native Jamaica upon her family’s return. Our prayers go out to Trevayne’s Mom, Karen Grant, and the entire family.

On a lighter note, we receive some really beautiful notes and I want to share one of them with you today. Jennifer M. has given me permission to share an excerpt from a note that she sent us.
“My five year old at the time refers to Andrew as Saint Andrew of the Soccer Field. She was in kindergarden and told her teacher that her patron saint was not Elizabeth but Andrew, after Andrew McDonough. When I explained to her that Andrew was an amazing person but not a Cathloic Saint she continued to confront me with questions. “Isn’t a saint someone who tells people to become better, Isn’t a saint someone who always thinks of other people. Samantha continued with questions until I told her that in order to become a Saint, the person needs to be recongized by the Pope. Samantha quickly told me it was just a matter of time until the Pope learned of Andrew. So in the our family, Andrew will always be known as Saint Andrew of the Soccer Field.”
I like it!!!
Live Like “St. Andrew of the Soccer Field” - ‘help others become better and think of other people’.
MAKE it a great weekend.
