"Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer®”
There are so many ways that you can help us help families of kids with cancer. It's especially gratifying to me when it's "Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer®". Whether it's bringing an event to your school, attending a B+ Foundation-run event, joining us on our B+ Running Team, or doing your own thing, there's no limit. B+ Supporter, Shayna Tiller of MD, said that she got into running because of our B+ 5k. This past Sunday, Shayna completed the Baltimore Half Marathon and she raised money for The B+ Foundation. Not only did Shayna achieve an incredible accomplishment of covering 13.1 miles, but she took our kids along the way...by keeping them in her heart, motivating her, and raising money for them. Thank you, Shayna, and congratulations.
If running is your thing, stay tuned as we'll be announcing the 2017 event for The B+ Running Team soon. We've gone to great races so far including the Hamptons, Delaware, Las Vegas, Disney, and Nashville.
Thank you very much to the folks at CSC - Annual Reports group for hosting a Guest Bartender fundraiser to benefit The B+ Foundation.
Thank you to University of Washington, Eisenhower Intermediate School (NJ), UDance, University of Illinois, and University of Pennsylvania students for inviting me to speak at your schools in the last few weeks. Because of you, we are changing the world. Know a school without a B+ event? Please contact Carly@BePositive.org to help us spread the movement.
Upcoming Events
UDance Rave Run - TONIGHT (10/19) - open to the public. Come to Memorial Hall on The Green for tonight's 6:30pm 5k. Run or watch...always a fun night. Again, it's open to the public!

Childhood Cancer Fact
Did you know that for the first time, the most common type of childhood cancer (leukemia) is now NOT the most deadly? The most deadly type of childhood cancers are brain tumors. Why do I share this? Does it matter? Yes. Because it PROVES what can happen when you invest money into research. The incidence rate of childhood cancer is actually increasing, but the progress made in pediatric leukemia research - because of money - has improved survivorship. Before you celebrate too much, though, remember that nearly 3 out of 4 childhood cancer survivors will have chronic side effects. But, they're alive! More money invested absolutely translates into more kids surviving. We want to beat ALL types of childhood cancers. And, that's why part of our mission is to support research like the brain tumor work at Duke that I wrote about last time...and Seattle Children's, and CHOP, and Dana-Farber, etc etc. So much more work to be done. Thanks for your help.
