Just thought I’d start off by posting a B+ sighting (me!) in the town square in Munich, Germany. Don’t forget to bring your B+ gear on your trips and send us the pics.

Let’s start today with “our kids”.
I’d like to ask you for prayers for Ann Haering (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/annhaering). Ann is a very brave Minnesota teen who is battling ALL (leukemia). Ann proudly wears her B+ shirt; she is a true B+ Hero!
Please keep Katie Nello and the Nello/Shea families in your prayers. Katie is a local young lady battling Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a severely painful and debilitating neuromuscular disease. There will be a few upcoming fundraisers for Katie and I invite the Shea family to post the information in the Guest Book. The Sheas have been friends for many years and really went out of their way for us during our stay in the hospital.
Our deepest condolences go out to the Akin family. Matthew Akin just passed away and now the Akins must deal with the loss of not only Andrew, who previously passed away, but now Matthew as well.
On a much happier note, I’d like to thank the brothers of Phi Sigma Pi (PSP) for taking B+ Hero, Evan Nickle, and his family down to Dover Downs for a tour of the track. Evan is a huge car guy and the pictures that I saw of Evan on the high-banked track looked so cool. Evan is an ‘adopted’ brother of PSP through our UDance Program at the University of Delaware. It really warms my heart to see the unbelievable kindness of these college kids!!!

Please remember to visit the link below to sign up for the “4th Annual B+ Fighting Childhood Cancer 5k Run/Walk”. Whether you’re local or not, a runner/walker or not, everyone can take part — as either a participant or a sponsor. Please take a minute to join a team and then send out a note to all your friends and ask them to join you/support you.

If you want to know where the money will go, allow me to share a brief story of a family that we recently helped. Claira was born on Feb. 18, 2007 (about a month after Andrew went into the hospital) and diagnosed with retinoblastoma (cancer in her eye) in 2009. Because of The B+ Foundation — ALL of you — we were able to help this little girl get a prosthetic eye. Her Mom writes:
“Thank you so much for your help in getting my daughter’s prosthesis. My heart breaks every time she tells me someone is looking at her. She is so young to be feeling self-conscious. Your gift will go so far in helping her feel ‘like a normal kid’ again. I pray that you and all who help and donate to your foundation will be blessed abundantly, for you have blessed me and others abundantly.”
Thank you!
