Meet B+ Hero, Roger
Meet B+ Hero, Roger
Here's a note to you from Roger's Mom. "Thank you so much for the financial support that The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation gave to our family during our difficult struggle with leukemia. My 8 year old son Roger has had a life full of challenges. Due to a birth injury, he suffers from severe cerebral palsy that left him unable to eat, talk, walk or even sit up on his own. He had been making remarkable advancements until he was diagnosed in August, 2013 with a rare and difficult form of ALL called Philadelphia chromosome positive. It has been a very long and painful road so far, be we are pleased that he has remained in remission to date. Our world has been turned upside down, and as a single mother of two young children, the gift of financial aid from your foundation has really helped to try to make ends meet throughout our endless hospital stays and Dr. visits. Bless you for all the good work you do."
First Year Med Students Hear Patient Family Perspective
Thank you to the Sidney Kimmel Medical School at Thomas Jefferson University for inviting me to speak once again this year to your 1st year medical students. I applaud you for wanting to include the patient family's perspective upfront in their education. I think this sends a very important message to these future doctors.
B+ Included at the Wedding!
Congratulations to Krista & Nathan on your wedding this past weekend and thank you very much for including us in your special day. In lieu of gifts for the guests, the happy couple made a donation to The B+ Foundation and gave each guest a B+ card at their seat. We're honored to be included and thanks for helping us raise money and awareness.
B+ Makes it to Alaska
Haley Wahrhaftig, a loyal and longtime B+ supporter and 2nd year Midshipman at the US Naval Academy, participated in National Outdoor Leadership School in Alaska this summer. The participants weren't allowed to wear cotton shirts because they take too long to dry, but Haley insisted on "bringing Andrew to Alaska" for a B+ Sighting. Thank you, Haley!
Make it a great week.
