Mon. Dec. 19th
I ask for your prayers today for Joseph Feeley. Joe is a young man from DE who has been bravely battling Ewing’s Sarcoma. He’s in a particularly rough patch right now and could really use your prayers. Please also take a minute to visit the Feeleys on Joe’s page and let them know that the B+ Nation is supporting them. Thank you for taking a few minutes to offer a great gift to this young man and his family.

One of the things that helps me survive each day is knowing that Andrew continues to ‘live’ – to touch people’s lives. It always amazes me when people who didn’t have the privilege of meeting Andrew in person extend themselves in acts of kindness in honor of Andrew and ‘our kids’. Please take a minute to watch this video that a young man named Ned put together. This guy really ‘gets’ it and made me so proud. By the way, for those of you who have not traveled down the road of childhood cancer, the acronym “NED”, coincidentally, is the holy grail. “NED” stands for “No Evidence of Disease”. I love this video.

Another example of Andrew’s reach happened last night at Ice Line in West Chester, PA. Danielle Speroff and her Quakers U19 ice hockey team played their annual Alumni Game last night as a fundraiser for The B+ Foundation. They had baked goods, raffles, and all kind of cool stuff. They even gave me the honor of dropping the ceremonial puck at center ice. The puck, by the way, had a B+ sticker on each side. Thank you to the Cottle family for bringing The B+ Foundation to the world of ice hockey. The Quaker girls have dedicated their season to “Lace Up to Fight Leukemia”. Thank you, ladies.

Thank you, also, to the students of the University of Delaware Central Complex dorms who brought a boatload of gifts and goodie bags to A.I. duPont Hospital in Wilmington for distribution to the children on the Oncology unit. Your kindness is much appreciated!

Happy Hanukkah (one day early) to all of our Jewish friends and here’s hoping everyone has a somewhat stress-free (I know I’m asking for a lot) holiday shopping week.
