Wilmington Winter Classic

Thank you very much to the Wilmington Police & Fire Departments for another great Wilmington Winter Classic benefitting The B+ Foundation.  As you can see in the picture, we had B+ Heroes on the ice for the ceremonial puck drop alongside players from both teams and the respective Chiefs of the WPD and WFD.

Back to School

With the holidays behind us, it's back to school and that means back to B+ Dance Marathons.  Congratulations and thank you to Appoquinimink and Brandywine High Schools who both organized events last Friday night to help fight childhood cancer.  Really looking forward to this Friday's Wilmington Friends/Tatnall/Tower Hill/Sanford B+ dance marathon.  The snow a week or so ago kept me from visiting the kids at McVey Elementary School in Newark, DE so I'm looking forward to hanging with them on Thurs. morning.  Speaking with elementary school kids is always a blast.  If your school or office would like to do a B+ event, please contact me at Joe@livelikeandrew.org.  Thanks.

Thank you also to the Gunning Bedford Middle School Student Council who donated the proceeds from their snack sale at a recent dance.  There must have been some hungry students because they raised $590 from the snack sale alone.  Thank you for being B+ Ambassadors.

Featured Family of the Week

Danielle is a 14 year old being treated for embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.  She was diagnosed in May, 2013 and, subsequently, it was discovered that she had a rare lung tumor as well.  Initially, Danielle's cancer responded well to the chemotherapy, but unfortunately, tumor progression has occurred.  As a result, Danielle had a hysterectomy and is now undergoing more intensive chemotherapy.  And you may have thought you were having a hard day?

Danielle's family asked for assistance with illness-related expenses and, thanks to the B+ Nation, we were able to help out.  Please keep Danielle and her family in your prayers.

Try to make it a great week!
