WOW!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing weekend at the Northwestern University Dance Marathon (NUDM) 2012!
As you know, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation was the Primary Beneficiary of NUDM ’12. The students at Northwestern danced for 30 hours, from 7pm Friday night until 1am Sunday morning. Our Chicago-area B+ Heroes joined us on stage as did our B+ Racing Team drivers, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb. (I have video of Al and Hugh crowd surfing if you want to see that…maybe I’ll post that at some point!). There was great media coverage and, between this past weekend and the past 12 months, we’ve gained a tremendous amount of awareness to our battle against childhood cancer. The NU students put a lot of smiles on the faces of our brave B+ Heroes. And, I’m pretty confident that these last 12 months were a life-changing experience for the college kids as well.
Oh, and by the way, the NU students broke their fundraising record and raised $1,107,670 in cash and in-kind donations.
As Primary Beneficiary, The B+ Foundation received 90% of the next cash proceeds or $717,770!!! By far, our largest single donation in the history of our Foundation.
I don’t have the words to adequately thank the kind students of Northwestern University. I am so humbled, appreciative, and proud of these young men and women.
