I’m sorry that I haven’t posted since Monday. On Tuesday morning, Chris and I paid our respects to Billy Beauchamp’s family. The image of a little 2 year old in an open casket stays with you forever! God bless Billy and his family.

The B+ Nation has always shown such great support and compassion for “our kids”…the kids that I introduce you to or who you meet some other way. One of those great kids is Amanda Perrotta. I regret to report that Amanda passed away on Wednesday. If you have a minute, please post a nice message for her family. I know it will mean a lot. They sign their Journal Updates “B+” and “FROG” (Forever Relying on God).

Thanks to your generosity, OUR Foundation has provided assistance to many more families of critically ill children in the past few months including:
Jessica (AR) - 10 yr old with rhabdomyosarcoma
Brandon (PA) - 14 yr old with leukemia
Alyssa (NJ) - 4 yr old with kidney transplant and other conditions
Kyleigh (WA) - 2 yr old with numerous challenges
Carson (TX) - 6 mo old with tumor
Bradlee (TX) - 15 yr old with lymphoma
Trevayne (JAM) - 16 yr old with osteosarcoma

One of the ways that we are able to accomplish so much is due to the generosity of kids. I just love that ‘kids are helping kids’. Our latest example comes from Laurel, MD where Shayna T. is doing various fundraising projects in preparation for her Bat Mitzvah. Shayna is doing a different mitzvah (charity project) each month and she and her friends raised $150 in October for the B+ Foundation by selling baked goods. Thanks so much, Shayna and friends!!!

Another example happened today at the University of Delaware where a group of freshmen, enrolled in a course called “First Year Experience”, ran a fundraiser for us in the Trabant Student Center. We’ll be sure to post some pictures. (And, no, Ali didn’t have anything to do with this. I was really blown away when I got their e-mail asking for permission to do this.)

I would like to thank two groups that invited me to speak to them this week.
Montgomery County (PA) Community College - thank you Dr. Steve Baron and class!
Delaware Association of Student Councils - thank you Stacy Heller and officers!

And, finally, here are a few dates to put on your calendar for next year - yes, we’re planning way ahead! :)
