It’s sad, cute, funny, and a whole bunch of other emotions when I look back at some of the elementary school projects that Ali and Andrew did at St. Mary Magdalen.
Every holiday, Chris goes through the boxes and puts up a bunch of different elementary school projects around the house. Borrowing from Ali’s FB posting from today, I thought you might like to hear what 7 yr old Andrew McDonough was thankful for back in 1999.
“I’m thankful for family, turkey, money, home, food, pokemon, teachers, life, and pilgrims.”
I’ll bet this is the only time that pokemon and pilgrims have ever been in the same sentence!

Based upon the traffic on the main road near our house, I think the holiday season has officially begun. Try to keep your sanity with the shopping madness and traffic and remember what’s truly important. For those of you that want to get some nice holiday gifts without the mayhem of the malls, check out (in person or online) Ali’s favorite store — The Pink Turtle. As many of you know, B+ Hero & Angel Savannah Pauley’s Mom is one of the co-owners of the store.

On a personal note, I have finally retired my 11 year old car. The maintenance items were starting to pile up. In its place, I bought a Hyundai Sonata. Why am I telling you this? Because Hyundai is one of the few companies in the world that support childhood cancer research. They have given millions of dollars to childhood cancer research efforts through their “Hope on Wheels” campaign. I want to support those that support us. Please keep Hyundai in mind and if you ever go into one of their showrooms, please let them know that their support of our mission means a lot to you. Thanks.

I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. Remember, it’s not about the turkey or the sales. I would gladly never eat a big meal again or buy ‘great deals’ at the store if I could just have my buddy back. I am very sad, but I am also very thankful and blessed to be married to Chris and be Ali’s & Andrew’s Dad…and have such great family and friends. Make every day a day of Thanksgiving.
God bless you.
