Thank you to the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta (AZD -UD) for inviting me to speak at their Chapter Meeting on Sunday. As you’ll see on the left, virtually all of the sisters wore gold as a sign of respect for our battle against childhood cancer. I was very touched! They’ve done a great job with their ‘adoption’ of B+ Hero, Molly Anderson, and her sister, Maggie.

I am thrilled to see the good, early reports from Alex Blythe’s visit to MD Anderson in Texas.

I met a new B+ Hero, Mervin Jones, at AI duPont Hospital this week. Mervin is an 11 year old boy with AML (leukemia), like Andrew. Mervin is in 3A- Room 6 if you want to send him an e-card. It would be great if the B+ Nation would shower him with cards. The kids in the hospital decorate their rooms with these cards. They really appreciate them. You should see Noxah’s room….amazing!

“Featured Family of the Week”
Through your support, YOUR Foundation is providing assistance to 4 year old, Ricky, and his family. Ricky is the oldest of three children and was diagnosed in August with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). DIPG is a brain tumor that is located in the middle of the brain stem. Due to the nature of these tumors, they tend to be inoperable, as is the case with Ricky. While we always pray for miracles, the prognosis for DIPG patients is very grim.
Ricky’s parents spend the weekdays with him in the hospital, two hours away from home. On the weekends, they drive back home to spend time with their other children while a family member stays with Ricky. At the present time, money is extremely tight with Ricky’s family. The B+ Foundation is providing financial assistance to help with their rent and food. Please keep Ricky’s family in your prayers.

We’re praying for you, Noxah!
