Fight Childhood Cancer While You Shop

If you haven't already done so, PLEASE visit www.amazonsmile.com and register The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation as "your" charity. That's it...one time registration and you're done! Now, every time you shop on Amazon, a portion of your purchase volume (0.5% to be exact) will be donated to The B+ Foundation. Just save AmazonSmile in your favorites and you never have to think about it again. Shop away and help us fight childhood cancer without even realizing it. We do NOT get a record of your purchases, just an aggregate check from the total quarterly volume of everyone who selected The B+ Foundation. Please register today...before Black Friday!

And, watch for us on social media for #GivingTuesday next week.

NYDM 2016

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of joining hundreds of passionate NYU students for the 4th Annual NYDM to benefit The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. The students of NYU, under the direction of Exec. Dir. Sarah Moses, raised $403,132.91. We had a dozen or so B+ Heroes and their families in attendance, were inspired by a courageous B+ Hero who took the stage and told her story, heard a Dad's perspective, were motivated by NYU Pres. Andrew Hamilton's words, and my brave daughter took the stage to share her thoughts and thanks.

"Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer" ®

I've been so inspired by some really neat things that have happened over the past week. For example: a 10 yr old boy named Aaron decided he wanted to raise money for The B+ Foundation by exhibiting and selling his photographs (he's really good!). He told me in advance that his goal was to raise $300! He stopped by my house last night to give me an envelope with over $1,700!!!

Last Friday, Sanford School (DE) hosted a dodgeball tournament to raise money for our familiesMariano is a college student, singer/songwriter who has released an amazing song and he has decided to donate all of the proceeds from this song to "UDance", the dance marathon at the Univ. of DE which benefits The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.

I received a call yesterday from a martial arts school in Orlando, FL who will be doing a kick-a-thon to benefit The B+ FoundationThe dance studio that one of our B+ Heroes (Hayden) attends has selected The B+ Foundation as their beneficiary for their end-of-year show.

This is just a sampling of some of the events of "Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer"®.

The B+ Jr. Board Hosts Inaugural Event

For the past year, a group of middle school and high school-aged kids have formed the Junior Board of The B+ Foundation. Their inaugural event - created by and run by kids - will be a New Year's Eve Party for kids AND their families. This event will be held at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts in Wilmington, DE from 8:30pm-12:30am.

Final thought...last Friday, I signed about 65 checks for families of kids with cancer. (That is one week's worth.) Probably almost half came from Republican families and almost half from Democratic families. But it doesn't matter. Kids get cancer every day of the week, regardless of the weather, their skin color, their religion, how much their parents make, or political party affiliation. We are their constant. We need to be there to help them get through today and to fund research to eradicate childhood cancers. Thank you very much for joining us on this crusade.

Happy Thanksgiving!
