Remembering Troy

Remembering Troy Haynes Jr.

Troy Haynes.png

Yesterday we celebrated the life of Troy Haynes, Jr.  Troy reminded me a lot of my son, Andrew.  Troy was known as a great all-around athlete, but there was so much more to him - he was a great young man. The picture below is when Troy was leaving A.I. duPont Hospital in Delaware for a clinical trial at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.  Troy so courageously battled his cancer and fought to live to see his 19th birthday on Sept. 22nd.  One week later, Troy went to Heaven. In life, the family's mantra was "FightLike4" recognizing Troy's football jersey number.  Now, we say "LiveLike4".  May God bless and give strength to Troy's family and friends. I'm so fortunate that our paths crossed.

BBPositive

As I learned the news of Troy's passing, I was on my way to the 4th birthday party for a beautiful little B+ Hero, Blair.  We have paired Blair with the ladies of Delta Gamma at Villanova University and the ladies have been amazing.  A contingent of DG sisters came to Blair's grandparents' house for the party. Blair has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive brain tumor and I ask that you keep her and her family in your prayers.  Blair's nickname is BB and the family has adopted the motto of "BBPositive".  I like it!  #WinToday

Racking Up the Miles

I've seen the inside of airplanes and trains a lot lately as the school year is in full swing.  In the past two weeks, I've been fortunate to have been invited to speak to groups at Villanova University, the University of Alabama, the University of Texas, and New York University.  I am always SO inspired by these students!  Thank you.

Happy belated birthday (yesterday) to a Co-Founder of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation - and my little girl - Ali!  Twelve days until I walk her down the aisle!!!

Make it a great week.
