As you know, one of the initiatives that we helped fund in 2009 was the High Throughput Screening (HTS) device at the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research (NCCCR). I am very pleased to share with you that the lab has realized a big win as it relates to protein interactions related to a specific type of leukemia. Based upon these results, NIH has approved a collaborative project between NCCCR and the Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA!
Congratulations to everyone at NCCCR for this discovery! We ARE making progress!

I would like to ask for your prayers for a brave young man named Ted Schwartz. Ted is from Lower Delaware and is currently in treatment at A.I. duPont Hospital in Wilmington. Thanks to B+ supporter, Colleen, I had the privilege of meeting Ted and his Dad at this hospital. Ted is going through a rough patch and could certainly use your prayers and messages of encouragement. Please pay him a “visit” at www.caringbridge.org/visit/tedschwartz .

Today, Nov. 30th, is the Feast Day of St. Andrew. St. Andrew’s Day always brings a smile to my face because it reminds me of a story that a little girl shared with us. She knew nothing of the St. Andrew who is honored today, but St. Andrew to her is my son, Andrew McDonough. Her official name for our Andrew is “St. Andrew of the Soccer Field”. Who’s to say she’s not right?

Live Like Andrew – see today as the most important day of your life!
