Welcome Andrew's Nephew!!!
A New Member of B+ Nation!!!
After 23 days in the NICU, I finally got a chance to meet and hold my first grandson when he was discharged this week. World, please meet Luke Andrew...nice first name and really good middle name, huh? ;) I'm sure that his Uncle Andrew is smiling down on him from Heaven. We are SO excited.
B+ Student Partners
As I've written before, the pandemic doesn't stop childhood cancer nor the pressing need to help our families. Our student partners across the country have redoubled their efforts and have become very creative in their programming. I would like to congratulate Loyola Marymount University (CA) and LaSalle University (PA) who recently held their events. Some of our events are in-person, some virtual, some hybrid, and some, are still TBD.Our three largest events - Univ of Delaware, NYU, and Villanova - combined to raise approximately $3,400,000 in 2019 (pre-Covid year). Did you know that we work with students, of various ages, at about 75 schools across the country? And, we're always looking for more. ;)
Miss Jetset
We have been SO fortunate to be the charity beneficiary of the Miss Jetset contest every year. Jetset magazine is an ultra high-end magazine that hosts a cover model contest every year. People buy votes for their favorite contestants and the organizers generously donate a portion of their proceeds to The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to fight childhood cancer. This year, we are receiving a record-high check of $370,183.08!!! Boy, do we need it! Thank you!
Childhood Cancer Annual Lobby Day (Virtual)
Whether you've had childhood cancer impact your family directly or not, we would love to have you join us as we 'show up' for the kids. This year, once again, will be a virtual lobbying of federally-elected officials. Training is provided. If you're interested, please sign up here.
Make it a great weekend!
