Where to Turn?

Thank you for the nice, encouraging comments about my last post about our investment in research. I am so excited to fund such high-quality, meaningful research that is changing the game in the fight against childhood cancer. I can’t change that Andrew didn’t survive, but hopefully kids like Whitley and Luis will thanks, in part, to B+ Nation.

B+ Hero Whitley

Please take a moment to read the note below from Whitley’s Mom. Her horror and desperation are just so palpable. You have helped so much.

“My name is Brittany and I am writing to say thank you for the financial help that BE POSITIVE helped my family with. My daughter Whitley was born with a rare life-threatening genetic disorder. 4 and a half months later she was then diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. Our world had been flipped upside down. Every aspect of our lives changed. It has been really hard but we are so thankful that our little girl is healthy for now, for all the time we have spent with her, and for all the amazing people we have met through this journey. We are still trying to get back on our feet and have made no ground on all the debt we incurred. We have been working overtime and picking up extra shifts but feel so defeated and burned out and not making any progress. She may have no active cancer right now but her medications, appointments, worries, and debt continue. The financial support you sent means so much to us and a thank you just doesn't feel like enough. My family truly appreciates you and your generosity. Thank you again.”

B+ Hero Luis

“Don’t know where to turn” is an expression that we hear often. We are thankful with our partnership over over 700 Social Workers from 250+ hospitals and referring organizations across the country.

“Dear B+,

We are truly sorry for the loss of your son. Our condolences to you and your family. We would like to thank you for the help you and your foundation that was able to provide us, since it was a huge relief and we are truly grateful. No one ever anticipates going through this or be prepared for cancer and your right during the process your main focus is your child and being there for every moment and as a parent you put yourself second as well work, bills and by the time you realize your past due. I am thankful for our Social Worker- Clarissa E who guided us to apply since we didn't know where to turn too. This really provided relief while going through this journey with our son as of October 3, 2023 when he was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma. Thank you again for your beautiful heart and helping us and helping others during this difficult time as we know and relate to cancer. We shall stick together and Be positive and continue to fight the cancer battle since we won't give up. Our prayers are with you and your family and everyone going through this battle.

Thank you again”

If you’re interested and haven’t had a chance to make a year-end gift, please consider helping our kids by clicking here. Equally importantly, please share this post or tell 5 friends about The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to help us spread the word.

Thank you.

Make it a great week.
