#WinToday - A Tribute to B+ Hero Blair Henry
Over the past year, I've had the true privilege of getting to know the Henry family, and most especially B+ Hero Blair. Ironically, several years ago, I offered her Dad a job with The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
We re-connected last year under the painful circumstances of their little girl's brain tumor. Sadly, this morning, I "attended" 3 year old Blair's funeral on a livestream from their church. Blair was not expected to live this long and this little girl battled so courageously and lived each day with such gusto. Blair's parents, only a year or two older than my own daughter, dealt with this past year with such unbelievable grace. They said that cancer may take decide when their daughter would die, but they would get to decide how she lives. I shared with them my perspective of trying to #WinToday. Don't look too far down the road...just make the best of today. Or, maybe, just make the best of the next 15 minutes. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
I love the picture below when Blair got a chance to visit her Dad's alma mater (Archmere Academy) and Blair had great memories with her Delta Gamma sisters at Villanova as part of The B+ Heroes Program. Blair, you and your family have inspired me and I will never forget you. We owe it to you, Andrew, and all of the kids to work that much harder so that kids have a LOT of "Todays" to "Win". May God bless Blair's family.
