I had the honor of having lunch today with two very inspirational people. While I generally write about kids, these two folks are adults. “Dad” has battled cancer, has had a limb amputated, and is in a new fight with cancer in his lungs. “Mom” has been in the battle every step of the way and they have that familiar medical expertise that can only be gained by going through the wars. What impressed me so much was their optimism, their faith in God, their trust in each other, and their concern for how their children were dealing with the situation. Tremendous selflessness on both of their parts. Honestly, I am a much better person for having had the honor of spending 90 minutes with them. Please keep this family in your prayers.

A question was raised on this website about the time of our 5k Run/Walk in June. It will be held on June 19th with registration running (no pun intended) from approximately 5:00-6:30pm and the Run/Walk beginning at about 6:30pm. All the details will be posted in the near future online. Please start pulling your teams together and gathering donations. Thanks.

Andrew, only you, me, and God know just how much I miss you! As I used to say to you all the time in the hospital – Tenui Nec Dimittam. (Andrew’s school motto – ‘Take hold and never let go’) Don’t ever let go of us…we need you every day to help us to “Live Like Andrew”. I love you buddy!
