Today was an exciting day.

We had to divide and conquer. Chris, Ali, and I went down to the University of Delaware for their “Decision Day”, where they rolled out the red carpet for accepted students. They did a very nice job and it was an interesting day. As alums of the university, it makes Chris and I proud when we see how the University has gone from a good school in our day to a very good school today. We are, of course, very proud of Ali for being accepted. We have one more school to visit in person, just to make sure UD is the place for Ali. As we walked around the campus today, I really felt like Andrew was there with us. I know he is VERY proud of his big sister and best friend!!!

Unfortunately, we were not able to attend the Opening Ceremonies at Wilmington Little League. We are very proud to report that Wilmington LL is dedicating this entire season to Andrew. Additionally, after each game, a player will be awarded the “B+ Sportsmanship Award” and receive a “B+” wristband. My brother, Jack, represented us at the ceremony and helped the kids get a better understanding of the young man behind the award. Andrew played in Wilmington LL a few years ago, and we have very many fond memories of the games, the kids, and the families. The field is across the street from Andrew’s high school, Salesianum. Thank you Jen, Gary, Claude, and everyone at Wilmington LL for your very classy gesture. If you are local and have a free night (or weekend), stop by 18th & Broom Street and catch a Wilmington LL game. In my opinion, there’s NOTHING like it!

Chris mentioned to me tonight that it was a year ago that an army of generous kids and adults descended upon our yard and did the most terrific Spring Cleaning landscaping effort. Sitting in the hospital and knowing that so many friends were giving of their weekend time meant so much to us. And, our yard never looked better!!! J (Just ask our neighbors!!!) We sometimes forget it, but there really is so much good in the world! Thank you. We feel very blessed by the kindness of our many friends.

And, finally, on a serious note, I would ask for your prayers tonight for Maureen Musikar. Maureen is a young woman who has been bravely fighting AML (Leukemia). She was in remission for a while, but I understand that the cancer has reappeared. Maureen, I’m praying for a miracle for you. God bless you. Perhaps I can get an email address or website and you can send her your wishes to keep her spirits up. Thank you!

God bless you all.

Live Like Andrew – make a difference in the life of at least 1 person today!

B+

Ali’s & Andrew’s Dad

P.S. Ali is going to get mad at me, but I just have to say that I was so excited to watch her play in her soccer game yesterday against St. Elizabeth’s (a rival school). Ali played very well and Ursuline won 3-2.
