B+ Hero, Alex Blythe
In case you missed it on our B+ Facebook page last week, we ask for your thoughts and prayers for B+ Hero, Alex Blythe. In italics below is the FB message that Ali posted last Tuesday. I had the honor of visiting my friend, Alex, last Friday afternoon. This 21 year old young man has been fighting cancer for the last 7 1/2 years!
B+ Nation, please keep B+ Hero Alex and his family in your thoughts and prayers. For the past 7 years, Alex has bravely battled 3 different childhood cancers 4 times. Today, his family shared that Alex is going home with hospice.
Twice, he fought Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Then, he was diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma (brain cancer) and in April 2015, Alex was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma (brain cancer).
His family shared that two days ago, they noticed Alex was having some right sided weakness. He had a headache and was having a harder time speaking. He returned to the hospital for an MRI and CT Scan, which showed that the "chemotherapy is no longer working and the tumor is invading into good brain matter."
Alex is an amazing, inspiring, and courageous young man who has gone through hell. I will continue to pray for a miracle.
