With broken hearts we share with you that 13-year-old B+ Hero Leon passed away yesterday afternoon. Leon bravely battled Osteosarcoma, bone cancer, since October 2012. Despite chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, the cancer recurred.

Leon's so much more than his cancer, though. He's a joker who loved to squirt Andrew's Dad with the water gun. He's smart and sensitive. He's a sled hockey player and an exceptional violinist. He's a friend, a brother, and a son.

12 days ago, Andrew's Dad got to visit Leon at his home. He shared with Leon how inspired we are by him. He told Leon about how the many thousands of dollars that “Leon’s Team” has raised for The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation 5K has helped other kids fighting cancer and how some has even gone to research to help find a cure. He also spoke about the influence Leon has had on his University of Delaware Sigma Nu fraternity brothers, who "adopted" Leon through the B+ Heroes Program, and the UDance community because of his courage, strength, and kindness.

At this incredibly difficult time, please keep Leon's parents and his brother, Max, in your thoughts and prayers.
