B+ Hero Updates

Last Friday, I shared with you the special bond between a young B+ Hero, Aryn, and her "big sister" from Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Delaware, Sam Friedman.  After Sam was there for Aryn during her cancer, Aryn returned the favor when Sam was diagnosed with a brain tumor following graduation.

It is with a heavy heart that I report to you that Samantha Beth Friedman passed away last Saturday at the age of 27.  It was my honor to attend Sam's funeral on Long Island on Monday and it was so humbling to hear so many speakers talk about Sam's connection to The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.  Sam epitomized the B+ spirit and message.  For those of us fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Sam, we are much better for it.  We will honor Sam by living like her.

Please keep B+ Hero Christian in your prayers.  He did have his Bone Marrow Transplant on Tuesday and the next few weeks, in particular, are very, very important.  B+ Hero Danny ended up back in the hospital with internal GVHD (Graft Vs Host Disease) this past week.  It's been a tough battle for Danny, but thankfully, he was sprung from the joint and is now back home.

Thank you to the Wilmington Rotary Club and students at the University of Delaware and University of Alabama for inviting me to speak with you this week.  Go Hens and Roll Tide!!!

Finally, thank you to my alma mater, Mt. Pleasant High School for inducting me into our Hall of Fame this past week.  This recognition is bittersweet, but I appreciate Mt. Pleasant honoring Chris, Ali, Andrew, and me for what we've accomplished over the past 11 years.  You all deserve a share of this recognition as part of Andrew's B+ Nation.  Thank you.

MAKE it a great weekend.
