Breaking Records!!!

I was stunned yesterday when we wrote out 176 checks for $192,000 of assistance for families of kids with cancer nationwide!!! We have never helped so many families in one week. Thanks to B+ Nation, we can be there for these families when they need us most. With one less financial worry, they can focus more on what is truly important - the life or death battle of their precious child! THANK YOU! (I have to admit, I hope this pace doesn’t continue, though…for a lot of reasons.)

Featured Families

From Valerie’s parents:

“From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much to you, and everyone who is a part of The B+ Foundation. Thanks to you, we now have reliable transportation to our daughters' chemotherapy sessions, physical therapy, and overall visits and exams. It has been a difficult few weeks for our little family trying to figure out different ways to get to her treatments without transportation. Thank you very much for helping us in our time of need. Below we attached a photo of our precious baby girl Valerie. Again, we can not say it enough thank you so very much. God Bless each and every one of you.

From Julian’s Dad

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and I'm sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. It is so honorable to learn that those who support and work for cancer foundations when they have also experienced the trials of cancer treatment with their loved ones. My wife and I certainly intend to do the same when we're on the other side of this thing.

I cannot express how grateful we are for your organization's generosity in helping our family. The impact that Julian's leukemia treatment has had on him and all five of us in our family has been immeasurable. He was only one and a half when diagnosed with ALL, so he had a NG tube at the beginning for us to deliver all his meds. It has been a long journey so far, about 14 months in. About another 14 months to go still, with him hopefully ringing the bell in March of 2024. Now being almost 3 years old, we are happy to report that he takes his daily chemo meds by mouth and has started to grow his hair back. He is now in the maintenance phase, which is 12 week repeating cycles of chemo treatment. Each cycle starts with a steroid pulse, and I cannot overstate how intense a toddler on steroids can be. We have been lucky in the sense that he has only had two longer term hospital stays throughout treatment, so any thoughts and prayers to help us keep managing this at home are the most helpful.

We manage to get by with me being the only one working, and my wife stays home with Julian who keeps her quite busy every day. 2022 was a tough year for the price of groceries, gas, and so many other household items to shoot up higher than they've ever been, so believe me when I say that your help in paying our mortgage next month goes a long, long way. I wanted to include a photo of Jules, and his big brother Oliver and sister Georgia so you can see the smiling face of some kiddos you have helped along their journey. Please keep us on your mailing list for ways to participate, and once we are through this, I look forward to contributing to B+ and helping other families when our time comes to give back.”

Schools

Thank you Villanova University and NOVAdance for hosting me this week. It was an honor to share Andrew’s story and our mission with 800 new fraternity and sorority members.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend…and stays warm and safe in the parts of the country with deadly cold temperatures.

While I always try to be neutral on a lot of things because we receive support and help people from all walks of life and all parts of the US, in particular. BUT, with Super Bowl LVII upcoming, I just have one thing to say:

FLY EAGLES FLY!!! ;)
