Busy, Busy, Busy!

SIOP (International Society of Pediatric Oncology)

Following great visits to the University of Delaware, University of Alabama, and the University of Texas, I headed to Barcelona, Spain last week for the largest, international childhood cancer conference - SIOP. I believe that there were representatives there from about 150 countries. In addition to participating in some exciting and powerful sessions (from hard science - biology- to psychosocial research to a impactful session on grief), I had the opportunity to visit a lab that we are supporting. Got to make the trip worthwhile! And, it’s always great to connect or re-connect with other global advocates and researchers. The picture below includes some of the members of the fantastic ACCELERATE team based in Europe that we support.

16th Annual B+ Golf Outing, Dinner, & Auction

Event planning is hard and one thing that you have to begrudgingly accept is that you cannot control the weather. While I cannot complain since our friends in the South got hit really hard and suffered tragic loss of life, we experienced the effects of Hurricane Ian as it brushed by us up the coast. We ended up with about 50% of our golfers showing up and we had a lighter than normal crowd for dinner, BUT we raised nearly $100,000!!! Thank you to all of our sponsors, golfers, auction donors, and dinner guests.

Family Assistance

We, together, will give out about $100,000 every week to families at their darkest hour. Your help is more than just paying a bill…it’s a lifeline. See Mom’s note below.

Finally, on a very personal note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of the Co-Founders of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, our daughter and Andrew’s big sister, Ali! Have a wonderful day today, Ali. You deserve it. We love you!
