Busy, busy week!

Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer

Momentum is building… I’m so flattered and honored that so many young people want to help us fight childhood cancer.

In the last 9 days, I have given 30 talks at Chapman University (CA), UCLA, USC, the College of Charleston, Villanova University, and NYU. And, I even Skyped with a young lady in South Africa!

Last Saturday, on the heels of their amazing national championship, the students of Villanova University hosted NOVAdance, the 3rd annual B+ event to fight childhood cancer. The students set a goal of $167,000 - $1,000 for each of the 167 days that my son was in the hospital. We were very touched. And, guess what, they HIT IT! NOVAdance 2016 raised $167,123!  The B+ Heroes and the students had a great time and this money will make such a huge difference for so many families.

The day before, I spent part of the day at St. Peter School in New Castle, DE. This was a first year dance marathon for this grade school. Initially, they were hoping to raise $2,000-$3,000, which would have been amazing. They had to increase the goal 3-4 times and they ultimately raised $12,544! Incredible!!!

B+ Heroes

Please keep B+ Hero, Victoria Marsh, in your thoughts and prayers as she had surgery this week. Also, please keep UD AEPhi’s brave B+ Hero, Kate, in your prayers as well. And, of course, the 46 families whose world will be rocked today when they are told that their child has cancer.

There’s so much more to do, unfortunately. We’re making great progress on the research front, but it’s doesn’t come cheaply. We’re helping so many familes (2nd most in the country), but there are so many more to help.

How can you help?

  • Create a team for our 10th Annual B+ 5k TODAY. Don’t wait. Spread the word to your friends and get them to send out the solicitation email and use social media.   Click here for more information.

  • Organize an event in your community…it could be a dinner, golf outing, you’re limited only by your willingness and creativity. We can provide you with our proprietary fundraising website tool.

  • Sponsor one of our local Delaware-based events like our 5k in June or golf outing in September.

  • Consider setting up a recurring donation.  Sometimes that's a little easier to do and whatever you’re able to give is much appreciated.

We are finalizing our latest research grant and it’s really exciting. I look forward to sharing the details of this with you in the coming weeks.

Last Call for Charter Members of B+ License Plate Program

We have seen the mock-up and the license plate is ready to go into production. If you would like to be a Charter Member and have one of the first of the B+ Conquer Childhood Cancer license plates, I need your completed application by this Friday, April 15th.

The families in the fight thank you.
