PHILADELPHIA FIGHT JOINS OUR FIGHT

The Philadelphia Fight is a professional rugby club who has selected The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation as their philanthropy.  Last night, the Fight took on the NY Knights in a battle of undefeated teams.  The Philadelphia Fight prevailed in an exciting and tough match 30-22.  More importantly, the Fight adopted B+ Hero Sebastian as their Honorary Team Captain.  5 yr old Sebastian joined the guys on the field for the national anthem and coin toss. He was also given a special seat alongside the team bench and his family and friends had a special section in the stands.  Before the match, Sebastian was presented with his own jersey, socks, and an autographed ball.  I don't pretend to be an expert on rugby, but it was a LOT of fun last night.  While the final tally isn't in yet, last night "1st Annual Clash with Cancer" raised over $6,000 to help lessen the financial burden of families of kids with cancer.  Thank you, Philadelphia Fight and good luck with the rest of your season.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!

"Tooth Fairies with a Purpose" is a group started by ladies at Alpine & Rafeto, a Wilmington, DE-based orthodontia practice.  The ladies' goal is to create fun events while also helping worthy causes.  In April, they held their inaugural FUNraiser and last week, presented me with a check for $5,000!  They had a great time, drew a huge crowd, no one had to do too much work, and everyone had a blast...while helping our families of kids with cancer.  I hope this will stimulate some thought about what you can do in your communities around the country and world.  Every little bit helps!  Thanks.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY

Indiana University School of Nursing, IUPUI is conducting a study on children who have participated in a Phase I clinical trial. Your voluntary participation in this study, which includes a questionnaire & phone interview, presents a unique opportunity for parents to help move science forward by providing their perspective on what it was like to be in a Phase 1 trial. If interested, contact PHASE1CR@IUPUI.EDU or 317-274-8711. A $50 Amazon gift card will be provided to participants.

9 Years

This Thursday marks the 9 year anniversary of when Andrew went to Heaven.  In some ways, it feels like yesterday.  In some ways, it feels like decades ago since I got a chance to enjoy the company of my buddy.  There are LITERALLY no words to describe the pain & grief that we feel...yes, continue to feel.

Please do something nice this week.  Try your best to Live Like Andrew.  I need to know that he lives on...even if it's not exactly the way that I want.  Thank you.
