Thank you to the Philadelphia Flyers for honoring Andrew and bringing a great deal of exposure to The B+ Foundation and our battle against childhood cancer.  For additional pictures on last night’s ceremony, please visit The B+ Facebook update.

Our B+ Campus Events are Not Just About Raising Money

Take a look at what one student at NYU, Tori, wrote about her experience with The B+ Foundation and the inaugural NYU Dance Marathon (NYDM).

Participating in the inaugural New York Dance Marathon for The B+ Foundation was the most meaningful fundraiser that I have had the honor to work on. That day was not about raising the most money an inaugural dance marathon has ever raised, it was about celebrating life. Watching our B+ Heroes spend the day smiling and laughing just like any other children reminded me why 12 hours on my feet was no feat at all. I am so grateful that I could help give these kids just one day to be carefree, and that they taught me to “Live like Andrew”. This will definitely be included in the Top 5 experiences of my college career.

Thank you, Tori!

When Is It Going to Stop?

I was saddened to learn of the news of another child dying from cancer.  Justin Hertz was a local PA 11 year old who battled leukemia.  Please keep Justin’s family and friends in your prayers.

St. George’s Technical High School “B+ Talented” Show

Last night, St. George’s Technical High School (DE) held a talent show as part of their fundraising activities leading up to their B+ Dance Marathon (Spring 2014).  Seventeen acts went on-stage and Nadine reports that there was a ton of talent and everyone had a great time.  St. George’s amazes me.  You walk through that school and you see B+ stickers EVERYWHERE.  They really ‘get it’.  Thanks, Hawks!

Make it a great weekend and make the most of every day.  Yesterday, I learned the sad news that a friend of mine, John Healy, passed away from a battle with cancer.  John is a friend and was a great volunteer and supporter of all things B+.  While John leaves this world so early, he made a huge difference while he was here.  Please keep his family in your prayers as well.
