Holiday Perspective
NYU Dance Marathon an AMAZING Success!!!
The Greek Community at NYU came together on Saturday for the inaugural B+ 12 hour dance marathon called NYDM. I was almost speechless (I know….that’s saying something for me!) While we’ve had great campus events and I try not to compare too much, NYDM ’13 was the most successful first year college event we’ve ever had. We have 7 B+ Heroes paired with fraternities and sororities on campus and 5 (including Marco pictured here) were able to join us on Saturday. The NYU students raised an incredible $126,020.66 (vs a goal of $46,000!), hundreds of students turned out and had a blast, and we signed up about 40-50 new people for the Bone Marrow Registry!!! It was a really fun day and our thanks go out to Co-Chairs Sarah & Andrew, Greek Director Allison, the NYDM Exec Committees, all of the numerous sponsors, families, friends, and most importantly, the students. You really lifted up our B+ Heroes and their families. Thank you, of course, to B+ Foundation Program Director, Carly Bergstein, who has spent many hours over the past 12 months bringing this event to fruition.
Ali put a nice album together of the event.

Prayers for Kori Quinn
Kori Quinn is a brave young lady that we’ve been following for the past several years. Please visit Kori’s website at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/koriquinn to offer words of encouragement. Kori’s cancer has relapsed for the FOURTH time. This brave young lady has been through so much and is so brave and inspiring. Start your week by checking in on Kori. Thanks for letting her know that the B+ Nation is praying for her.

“Strip at Night”
This past weekend was a dance marathon (NYDM) and the previous weekend was a running marathon (the “Strip at Night”). It was crazy seeing 30,000-40,000 people running down the Strip in Las Vegas under the lights of the casinos. All 16 of our runners successfully completed the course, with 15 doing the Half and 1 doing the Full. One of the highlights of our trip was making a surprise phone call to B+ Hero, Miranda Ram-Nolte. One of Miranda’s favorite actors is Charlie McDermott who plays Axl Heck on the hit ABC show “The Middle”. Well, Charlie was one of the B+ Running Team participants and we called Miranda at the hospital. Joining us on the call was Dave Beaver, a Sallies/UD grad and friend of ours who also works in Hollywood. Suffice it to say, Miranda was pretty happy. Unfortunately, the next day found Miranda being transported from A.I. DuPont Hospital in DE to a hospital in North Carolina where she had a kidney removed due to a new tumor.
You can see pictures of our Las Vegas adventures on The B+ Foundation’s FB page.

Want Some Inspiration?
I can’t do justice to this video. You just have to watch a video that Miranda made from her hospital bed at A.I. DuPont Hospital. This young lady is incredible.
