I regret to inform you that one of our B+ Heroes, Trevayne Campbell, passed away this morning at 6:00am. Trevayne was a spirited 18 yr old girl who came to visit Delaware over 2 years ago and, while here, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her leg. Trevayne and her Mom, Karen Grant, lived in the Ronald McDonald House for the last 2 years as Trevayne battled so bravely. Trevayne was very proud to be a 2010 graduate of Brandywine HS. I have some great memories of taking Trevayne and Karen for rides in my car, watching her take charge at UDance, and just hearing the amazing things that would come out of that girl’s mouth. She was such a character. Trevayne, “Mr. Joe” is going to miss you. Karen, I know you’ll be returning to Jamaica, but please know that Trevayne has left an indelible mark on all of us here in Delaware and will never be forgotten. A memorial service for Trevayne will be held at her alma mater, Brandywine HS, on Friday at 10am.
