"Kids" of All Ages Making a Difference!

Rockin' NYC!

The New York City B+ Chapter of young professionals held their 5th Annual Gala on Saturday night.  What an amazing night.  Once again, it was SOLD OUT with 400 people in attendance.  What is so cool to me is that probably 150 of them or so partnered with us on their respective campuses when they were in college.  And, they remain dedicated and committed to helping B+ fight childhood cancer as they move into adulthood.  And, they bring out their friends and so a few hundred new "Ambassadors" are welcomed into the B+ Family.  The B+ Nation just keeps growing.  This year's event grossed well over $80,000!

It was sadly special to me that not only do we help and honor little kids with cancer, but some of these former students who are helping us have been diagnosed themselves. I took the opportunity to honor Sam Friedman, a UD alum who loved everything about The B+ Foundation, joined us last year at the 4th Annual Gala, and sadly passed away from cancer last Fall.  And, one of the BePosNYC committee members, Alyssa, has just completed treatment and her scans look good.  It was an honor having her with us at the party.  And, in spite of her cancer treatment, she is still on track to graduate from law school in a few weeks!  Amazing.

Thank you to the NYC B+ Committee, all of our sponsors, and everyone who attended.  And, kudos to B+ Foundation Program Director, Carly Bergstein (pictured on the left), who is the leader of this effort. Pictured on the right is Luisa, Mom of B+ Hero Christian, who is in Heaven with Andrew.

Bobcats Go Gold

On Saturday, kindergarten through 8th-grade students at Brandywine Springs School hosted their first ever, 12 hour dance marathon, Bobcats Go Gold, and raised $27,000 for our B+ Heroes!

Students, teachers and parents spent 12 hours dancing, singing, turning teachers into ice cream sundaes, dunking teachers in a dunk tank, playing games, and so much more.

Thank you to each and every student, donor, community member and especially advisor, Eric Ford, for making this inaugural event such a success.  Congratulations to B+ Hero, Zoe, for winning "Principal for a Day"!!!

Thank you, Bobcats Go Gold, for being the perfect example of Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer™!
