Live Like Andrew!
2nd Annual Childhood Cancer Prevention Symposium
We are proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Childhood Cancer Prevention Symposium being held Feb. 11-13, 2025 at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. This event is open to the public and we invite you to join us by registering here. Sadly, the incidence rate of childhood cancer has increased 40% since 1975. Since it is estimated that only 8% of childhood cancers are of a hereditary nature, it is critically important to bring leaders together to discuss the epidemiology of childhood cancers. Now, to be clear, I am NOT of the opinion that there’s some easy fix like removing x from our diet nor is there some Big Pharma conspiracy afoot. Childhood cancers are much more complex than this. But, this conference encompasses objectives like earlier detection to childhood cancers and other fascinating topics.
A keynote speaker this year will be Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Dan Fagin. If you’re interested in learning more, please read the press release or reach out to me at Joe@livelikeandrew.org.

B+ Hero Liam
We are grateful for the many generous year-end donations that came in recently and I want you to know that this is the impact. Aside from easing the family’s financial burden, you are reminding them “that we are not alone in this journey”. I can tell you, firsthand, how valuable it is to feel that people ‘out there’ are supporting you.
“Dear Be Positive,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation. Your support has made such a tremendous difference for our family during this challenging time.
My husband and I have made so many sacrifices to ensure our child receives the care and attention he needs, and knowing that a foundation like yours exists to help families like ours is truly heartwarming. Your kindness not only eases our financial burden but also reminds us that we are not alone in this journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and for making such a meaningful impact on our lives.”

If you’re local to DE, please come out and join us Sat. Jan. 11th at 6pm for the Wilmington Classic. The Classic is an epic ice hockey clash between the Wilmington Fire Dept and the Wilmington Police Dept. The event is open to the public and doors will open at 5:30 at the Skating Club of Wilmington (tickets are $5). This year, we will be honoring a young boy who was diagnosed recently with Rhabdomyosarcoma and whose father is a member of the WPD.

Ursuline Academy(DE) and Paul VI High School (NJ)
Two of our B+ schools faced off on the court this week for a special “B+ Awareness Game”. Hosted by Ali’s alma mater, Ursuline Academy, both Ursuline and Paul VI (Haddonfield, NJ) wore B+ shirts in warm-ups and I had the opportunity to address the crowd at halftime. Thank you to both schools for coming together to increase awareness of childhood cancers.
Make it a great weekend!
