Tomorrow, CBS3 (Phila. CBS affiliate) will be interviewing Peggy Palomo (B+ Hero Noxah’s Mom), B+ Hero Sammy Bradly (Noxah’s ‘twin’ from the hospital), and Annie Bradly (Sammy’s Mom) tomorrow for a story about the brave battles that Noxah and Sammy have fought and about Sammy’s  upcoming Bone Marrow Drive for Noxah on June 13th.  The B+ Foundation is proud to help out with this drive.  Interesting, Dave Huddleston, the reporter scheduled to do the story, is a bone marrow donor himself.  He donated his marrow to a 17 yr old girl with leukemia!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the “B+ Hero Teams” (teams established in honor of children - and adults- fighting or who have fought cancer) that have signed up for our 5k next month.  I am very touched when I get your Caringbridge updates and see your messages asking your friends to join us on this crusade.  We know we have a big mountain to climb, but we can’t afford to wait around and expect someone else to lead the way.  I wish I was never a part “of the club”, but I am honored to have met all of you.

Speaking of B+ Heroes, please, please pray for Trevayne Campbell.  Trevayne is experiencing a tremendous amount of pain and her cancer has spread very aggressively.

I want to share with you the final results from the May 15th “Pump & Run” organized by 1614 Fitness.  The event raised over $8,500 and 30 new folks were registered for the Bone Marrow Registry.  Thank you to Mike, Dino, and everyone involved in making the day such a success.

Three years ago today, I spoke to a friend for the last time.  This may sound strange, but Peter Kelts was a friend that I never had the privilege of meeting in person.  Peter and I emailed back and forth and spoke on the phone.  Like me, Peter was a ’soccer Dad’, being very involved at FC Delco.  Shortly after we entered the hospital, Peter reached out to me to offer support.  You see, Peter was battling cancer also.  I will never forget standing outside of A.I. duPont Hospital on the evening of May 24, 2007.  I knew that I was speaking to Peter for the last time.  A few hours later, Peter went to Heaven.  Peter’s wife, Trish, and their kids, Bri, Alex, and Grayson will especially be in my prayers today.

MAKE it a great week.  If you’re dreading Monday morning at work or school, just think about our B+ Heroes!

Live Like Andrew!  B+
