The Kids Were Busy This Weekend!
UVM
From Friday at 7pm until Saturday morning at 7am, the students at the University of Vermont danced through the night for our kids. In their inaugural year, they crushed their goal and raised $40,181 to help The B+ Foundation fight childhood cancer. Congratulations to Marissa and all of the UVM students for caring!
Charter School of Wilmington
The Charter School of Wilmington, with some help from the Cab Calloway School for the Arts, held their "2nd Annual B+ Charterthon" Saturday night. Last year, they raised an impressive $11,256 and this year, they set a goal of $20,000. They, too, CRUSHED their goal with a total of $26,486 raised!
Clarification
I want to clear up some confusion about another local event, SALSThon. SALSThon is a dance marathon at Andrew's alma mater (Salesianum) that we helped start last year. We had a very successful event with the students having a lot of fun, the B+ Heroes in attendance enjoying themselves, and $73,000 being raised to help us help families at 210 different hospitals.
Many people have asked me questions about SALSThon this year. I am disappointed to report that we are NOT involved with SALSThon in 2014. Salesianum has decided to select a different beneficiary for the event.
