Today Show

It's been an interesting last couple of weeks.  We were very humbled and appreciative of the exposure of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation on The Today Show.  While I would rather there be less focus on me and more on Andrew & Ali, I get that it was a Father's Day-themed piece.  I thought The Today Show did a really nice job, though, and the more awareness about childhood cancer, the better.  Thank you to Producer Mary Pflum for making this happen.

11th Annual B+ 5k

The following day was our 11th Annual B+ 5k and, with the exception of a little rain prior to the start of the run/walk, it was a great night!  We had nearly 1,700 participants and hundreds more spectators.  As always, the highlight of the night was the recognition of our B+ Heroes and Sibling Heroes on the steps of Andrew's school.  The glow-in-the-dark B+ fidget spinner was pretty well-received as well!  :)

Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer®

I am always so inspired by the notes and donations that we receive FROM kids FOR kids!  While they're not easy to read in the attached picture, two brothers each sent me notes (along with very generous donations). Wilkie writes that he "earned money from good grades from my grandmother" and he's earned extra money as well.  He said that he and his brother want to "make the world a better place.  I thought you would need it more than anyone else.  And I want everybody to be inspired to help kids with cancer to make the world better."  Amen, Wilkie and Bayard, and THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

One week from today is the 10th anniversary of the passing of my brave and precious son.  It's still so hard to believe that this is real.

So proud to be Ali & Andrew's Dad
