Today, I had the privilege of meeting a special lady, Nikki Spagna, and her ’support team’.  Nikki is the proud Mom of Dominic Osorio, a brave 7 yr old MD boy who went to Heaven last November.  Nikki and friends are honoring Dominic, “The Dominator”, by running the “D.O. Believe Foundation” to fight childhood cancer.  They made my day by letting me join them for lunch as we dined on fine cuisine (sarcasm intended) in the A.I. duPont Hospital cafeteria (the company was great, though!).  Nikki and friends presented a check for $20,000 to the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research!!!  I hope you’ll please visit The Dominator’s site and learn more about this brave young man and his foundation.

Tomorrow is the CureSearch Walk in Wilmington on the Riverfront.  Registration begins at 8:30 and the Opening Ceremony and Walk begins at 9:30.  Hope to see you there.

The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children’s cancer care team needs your help. With enough online votes, they could be one of the lucky hospitals to win $10,000 in grant funding from Lance Armstrong’s foundation, LIVESTRONG, to implement “Super Sibs!” (an ongoing support program for the siblings of children with cancer).

Voting is open now through October 29. Show your support for their cancer care program—and their patient-families—by casting your vote today at http://vote.livestrong.org/applicants/178-nemoursalfred-i-dupont-hospital-for-children/.

Okizu is a childhood cancer foundation in Northern California that offers peer support, mentoring, and a really cool camp (among other things).  They are participating in the Pepsi Refresh Project and are up for a $50,000 grant.  If you would like to help them, all you need to do is click on this link and take a minute to vote for them.  Pepsi is giving away a lot of money…let’s see what we can do to direct it to our cause.

I would like to thank Dr. Steve Baron and his Psychology students at Montgomery County (PA) Community College for inviting me to speak with them on Wednesday.  I always appreciate the opportunity to share our story and mission, particularly with young people.

Yesterday was Noxah Palomo’s ‘homegoing’.  At the funeral, they played one of Noxah’s favorite songs - “If Today Was Your Last Day”, by Nickelback.  Think about this line from the song…

“Each day’s a gift and not a given right.”

Noxah, you’ve touched a lot of lives and I know you will continue to touch us from Heaven.  May God bless the “Palomo Tribe” and may we all treat each day like the gift that it is.

MAKE it a great weekend!
