B+ Hero Arianna

“As we started this journey with Arianna, so many things ran through our mind, so many unanswered questions, so many whys. As the dust starts to settle, and you have a moment, then comes a wave of unknowns, how are we going to do this, pay for this, handle this.

My parents instilled in me at an early age the concept of hard work, respect, but most importantly responsibility. Responsibility of taking care of my family and what comes with having a family. Vicki and I have always put our kids first, we strived to provide them a better life than what we had. Yes, we spoiled our kids, but we also taught them the importance of life, respect and responsibility.

As we journey through this fight, we have learned a lot about ourselves, and how much LOVE and support we really have. We have always been the family to honor others, support others, but we never thought we would be on the other side.

There are no words we can say, and I am sure this is a common phase, but there are no words, but THANK YOU! I would like to say we are blessed, we are blessed to have our PRINCESS, and blessed to have organization such as yourself. You all are the true definition of ANGELS in every way. Your generosity and support, has allowed us to focus on Arianna’s health, her FIGHT, but most importantly, it will allow us to be a family with Arianna at this time of need, not having to worry about finances. A TON of stress has been taken off our shoulders.

On behalf of my family, THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE YOU HAVE PROVIDED FOR MY FAMILY. This will never be forgotten.”

FC Delco Players Cup

Every year since 2007, my son Andrew is honored by his old soccer club, FC Delco at the FC Delco Players Cup. 800 teams from all over the country and Canada come to Pennsylvania for this annual Memorial Day event for boys and girls in several age brackets. The U14 Boy Championship trophy is called the Andrew McDonough Cup. This year was particularly special as my grandson, Luke, presented his uncle’s trophy to East Coast FC from New York. While I was very moved watching him hand over the big trophy, I had tears in my eyes thinking how much fun Andrew and Luke would have had together.

I hope everyone enjoyed spending time with family and friends over the Memorial Day weekend. And, most importantly, I hope you all took a minute to think about why we observe this holiday and thank those who have given their lives for us.

You’re here…make today count.
