Sat. March 12th
Well, as I said in my last Update, I also have some exciting B+ Racing news to share.
Prior to last Saturday’s race at Homestead Raceway in Miami, B+ Racing drivers, Al Carter & Hugh Plumb, visited the Miami Children’s Hospital. They spent a lot of time with the children fighting cancer and their families and they signed autographs, gave out B+ silly bands, and just hung out for awhile. Additionally, they distributed 17 complimentary tickets to the kids who were well enough to make it out to the track. One little girl, Alexa, really had fun busting on our drivers (especially Hugh) and she joined the team in the Pit Box for the whole race. I think our guys had a little extra motivation and they improved on their great 5th place finish in Daytona with a 3rd place finish in Miami. This meant that Al and Hugh went up on the podium for the trophy presentation and obligatory champagne spraying celebration. And, best of all, they brought Alexa with them. Check out this great picture of the three of them and notice all the sponsor hats piled on tops of Alexa’s knit cap! Guys – great job and thank you for putting smiles on these kids’ faces!!!

Featured Family of the Week
Allow me the privilege of introducing you to 8 yr old, Xavier. Xavier was diagnosed in Nov. 2010 with a glioblastoma multiforme; a brain tumor. He has undergone 42 radiation treatments, chemotherapy, and surgery. Despite this, the tumor continues to grow. Xavier has 3 siblings, Mom is no longer working so that she can take care of her boy, and Dad has exhausted all of his paid time off. The family earns $30,000/yr and has fallen behind on their bills. Worse than that, according to the doctors, the prognosis for this young many is very poor. But, as I’ve said before, miracles happen every day. Perhaps Xavier’s miracle will come today. I can only pray that it will. While we cannot change the facts of Xavier’s diagnosis, we can impact the hardship that this family faces. Thanks to your generosity, The B+ Foundation is helping this family with their bills. And, as I see every week when I read ‘thank-you’ notes, you are not only giving these families money, but you are showing them that someone cares. You are giving them hope! Thank you so much!
So, for Alexa and Xavier and all of the kids, thank you very much.
