First off, thank you very much for the feedback to my last Journal Update. It means a lot to us!!!
In observance of “National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month”, I wrote an editorial piece for our local paper, The (Wilmington, DE) News Journal. While you will be familiar with much of the article from reading our Journal Updates, I hope you’ll take a minute to read it and hopefully learn something new. Here is a link to the article that ran in today’s paper:

I had the pleasure to attend “Kids Runway for Research” today at the DuPont Country Club. The fashion models were 100% childhood cancer survivors! It was very emotional watching all of the kids strut their stuff down the catwalk. Well done, everyone!!! (See photo of Sydney and Lisa Lysinger on the left.)

On Wed. Sept 29th, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be recognizing “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month” in Harrisburg. I know Aryn’s Strigle’s Mom, Shannon, and a few other B+ families will be attending. If you weren’t aware of it, are available, and would like to have your voice heard, please consider joining the group as they march on Harrisburg!

Tomorrow is our big golf outing! The forecast looks a bit questionable (70% chance of rain), but we need a successful day tomorrow so that we can raise a lot of money for our battle against childhood cancer. Please say a prayer for us. As we learned in the hospital, there’s only so much we can control.
We have the coolest auction item — a 1927 Chevy AA Capital Coach! If you have interest in bidding and won’t be able to join us, please email me at joe@livelikeandrew.org.

Congratulations to the Ferrara family and the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware. I heard that they had a very successful 2nd annual Delaware Mud Run. Hopefully, we’re one step closer to a cure!
