Setting Records with Family Assistance
Such mixed feelings...I HATE that there are SO many families of kids with cancer...and so many need a helping hand. But, I'm SO glad that you all - and so many people around the country - support The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and enable us to help these families. As you'll see in the picture, last Saturday morning, I mailed out 53 checks to help B+ Hero Families across the country. Sadly, two of these envelopes went to assist with funeral expenses. This was just ONE week's worth of applications!
A past recipient, Dalton's Mom, wrote to us: "To you, The B+ Foundation, our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the gift that you have given us. What may seem like a small gift was a Godsend at the most difficult time in our lives. You have done much more than simply easing a financial burden. You have given a gift of peace in the midst of what has become our chaotic life...We will always remember your kindness and generosity."
Michael "Hootie" Shelly 5k
I wish I met these kids under different circumstances, but I feel fortunate that my life has intersected with some really neat kids. I met a boy at the hospital a few weeks back named Michael Shelly. He's in treatment right now and he's a real trooper. There's an upcoming 5k to help the family with the mounting medical bills. The race will be held on Oct. 25th in Newtown Square, PA. If you'd like to support Hootie, please visit the link below.

Thank You UD Baseball Team
I had the privilege of introducing B+ Hero, Colby, to his new, adopted group - the University of Delaware Baseball Team. Colby is now one of the UDance B+ Heroes and the team really rolled out the red carpet for him. He sat in the dugout on Sunday during their intrasquad game and met a lot of great guys who, like Colby, love the game of baseball. Thank you, Manager Jim Sherman, and everyone at UD Baseball for welcoming Colby and his family so warmly.

Another B+ School!
Thank you, Principal Ron Peterson, and everyone at Vorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ for inviting me to speak to the entire student body at your assemblies on Tuesday. We are humbled and appreciative that you want to organize a B+ event at your school and we look forward to working with you to make it tremendously successful. Little by little, the word is spreading that kids get cancer too.
Welcome Jeffrey Duncan!
We have a new member of the team here at The B+ Foundation. Jeffrey Duncan, a graduate of Mary Washington College in Virginia, has joined us as the Delaware Program Manager. Jeffrey and I work out of DE and Carly Bergstein is the Program Director that handles everything out of our NYC (donated) office. Jeffrey is responsible for UDance, Villanova, Towson, our Delaware high school programs, local events, the Family Assistance Program, and a few other things. Jeffrey can be reached at Jeffrey@BePositive.org.
We're very lean, but that's one of the reasons why we can give $0.90 of every dollar spent right to the mission. There aren't many national charities that have an "overhead ratio" as good as ours. We take our responsibility of stewards of your donations very seriously. Moreover, we owe it to the kids! Thanks for your continued support.
