SIOP 2019

Last week was very exciting as 2,700 delegates from 110 countries gathered in Lyon, France for SIOP 2019.  SIOP stands for the Society Internationale Oncologie Pediatrique.  I was privileged to be in attendance and participated in many exciting sessions that ranged from biological discoveries to psychosocial issues to drug shortage issues to survivorship to new treatment protocols and beyond.  There was a great deal of collaborative sharing across the globe which I think is so critical to our ability to accelerate progress in the fight against childhood cancers.  A lot of great contacts were made and I am confident that our participation will enable The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to be an even more effective and productive member of the childhood cancer community.
